Our Story

For over 30 years, Tulsa CARES has provided a compassionate, community-centered response to the evolving HIV epidemic, supporting individuals as HIV has shifted from a fatal illness to a chronically managed disease. Today, Tulsa CARES stands as Oklahoma’s largest and most comprehensive provider of prevention and care programs for low-income individuals living with HIV and Hepatitis C.

In January 2022, Tulsa CARES welcomed Dr. Madhuri Lad, a leading HIV care expert, to help launch an onsite medical program for case-managed clients. With deep trust already established in the community, Tulsa CARES was uniquely positioned to expand its services, ensuring clients could access care in a setting that felt safe and familiar.

CARES Health was built to carry that vision forward. Created as part of a broader plan to grow and sustain medical services, CARES Health operates from a newly developed 4,370 square foot clinic conveniently located directly next door to Tulsa CARES. This purpose-built space ensures that more individuals receive high-quality, trusted, and integrated medical care, furthering our commitment to patient wellness and health equity.
